About Tiny Tot knife
Strong and overloading resistance steel
Tiny Tot is a full-tang knife made of one carefully selected piece of material, with covers attached to the steel running through the entire length and width of the handle. Sleipner is a high-quality alloy steel, with its properties significantly exceeding the commonly available tool steels on the market. This steel is very resistant to mechanical damage (chipping, etc.), twisting and overload. Sharpens relatively easily and remains sharp for a long time. With proper treatment, it has quite good anti-corrosion properties. Due to its high impact strength, Sleipner steel is eagerly used in large-size knives, naturally intended for extreme use.
The steel in the presented knife has been covered with one of the best coatings available on the market. It is a black DLC (Dimond Like Carbon) coating with a hardness close to 90 HRC (the maximum on the HRC scale is 100). Coated Sleipner steel is practically non-corrosive. The coating is very durable and has anti-reflective properties, which is important in the tactical use of knives
Drop point blade style
The blade of the knife has a working drop point style blade and a flat grind. It is very versatile in use. We notice a swedge on the crest towards the point. Also on the spine there is jimping, the reflection of which can be found on the other side, near the end of the handle. Jimping supports the thumb when making cuts that require pressing the blade against the material.
Ergonomic handle
The handle has an undercut for a finger, which acts as a guard to prevent the hand from slipping over the cutting edge during work. The rounded spine protruding from the handle improves comfort and grip. The head (the back of the knife) ends with a triangular hole for a rope or paracord, which is characteristic of the works of Torbé Knives.
G10 handle covers
The handle covers are made of G10 composite, resistant to moisture, temperature changes, most solvents and acids, with high resistance to mechanical damage. The covers were screwed. The screws are in DLC coating for consistency with the overall design of the knife. The whole structure makes the handle fits the hand very well and the grip is firm and secure.
Unique knife bead
The knife originally has a paracord weave with a brass bead attached to it. The bead made by the knifemaker is different for each knife piece. The bead is made in vintage style.
Kydex sheath
Knife comes with sheath made of hand-formed Kydex material. Kydex is characterized by high impact and scratch resistance, low moisture absorption, resistance to various weather conditions and many chemicals. Sheaths made of it are used comfortably and for a long time. To facilitate the removal of the knife, a thumb rest has been designed, thanks to which the knife can be removed in a controlled and safe manner. The sheath has pass-through pins to which you can attach, for example, a tinder holder (not included) or use them to attach it to a backpack. We attach the sheath to the belt with the T-Clip buckle designed by Bob Terzuola, made by CIVIVI, with which Torbé Knives cooperates as a designer. The T-Clip is the equivalent of the Tek-Lok buckle and is compatible with MOLLE solutions. The use of the T-Clip buckle coincides with the knifemeker’s concept of carrying the knife in full readiness on a belt directly at hand.
