MK Knives & Tools Rambler “Wood Spirit” knife is designed for hiking and nature exploration. Its size (260 mm total length | 10.24″) makes it suitable for heavy-duty tasks like woodwork and batoning, while its 131 mm blade (5.16″) is versatile enough for finer camp chores like meal preparation.
Crafted with Elmax steel, the drop point blade is grooved for enhanced cutting performance. The handle scales, made of Desert Tan G10 composite with stabilized wood inserts, offer a comfortable grip. The knife comes with a black Holstex sheath adorned with thematic pictograms related to nature: river, leaf, deer. Additionally, a matching bead made from the same stabilized wood as the handle is attached to the included paracord.
“Wood Spirit” Series – Source of Inspiration
The “Wood Spirit” series combines modern design with natural elements such as wood and genuine leather, along with pictograms inspired by nature (river, leaf, owl, deer, tree). Each knife in the series is crafted uniquely and as a one-of-a-kind piece. They exhibit both functional and collectible qualities, serving as both elegant talismans and practical tools suitable for outdoor environments like forests.
MK Knives & Tools – Excellence in Knifemaking
MK Knives & Tools – Marcin Kampka. Knife designer and knifemaker. His knives are characterized by outstanding workmanship and exceptional attention to details. Knives with a highly recognizable line, style and colors are great for a variety of tasks: everyday, survival, bushcraft, tactical and general outdoor. In addition to the usable sphere, the visual setting and the variety of workmanship, especially appreciated by collectors, are of great importance in MK projects. Particular attention should be paid to the treatment of each project as a unique whole. Each knife presents its individual features, but holsters also have their distinguishing features. Holsters are finished as carefully as the knives themselves, which strongly distinguishes them in the knife world. The knifemaker approaches his work with patience and full commitment. Especially the first of these features develops while practicing the fishing hobby, because as we know, nothing refreshes the mind as much as a distraction, even a temporary one that will allow you to relax in a different than everyday environment.
Rambler Knife – Thrully Companion for Outdoor Expeditions
Rambler knife is a great tool for a future user. Its fairly large size (260 mm in total), does not give the impression of exaggeration when held in the hand. Its weight is really accurate and does not tire the hand to much. Design of Rambler is highly polished. Attention is drawn to the handle very nicely and ergonomically designed, with a clear gripping line (recess in the handle), which will successfully fit a hand of both smaller and larger sizes. The recess in the handle on the one hand does not force the unnatural position of the fingers on the handle, and on the other hand prevents the knife from slipping out of the hand, even when cutting with a swing.
When we imagine a man wandering in forest wilderness, carrying a large backpack with strapped, knocking dishes, a sleeping bag, etc., a nature lover going to the desired camp and looking for a knife attached to his belt, we see the Rambler model.
About the Presented Version of the Rambler Knife
Durable Steel as the Core of the Knife Construction
Presented knife is made of one piece of Elmax steel. It is a knife with a full-tang construction, where the steel runs the entire length and width of the handle to which the covers have been attached. Full-tang construction is the most durable type of construction found in fixed-blade knives.
Elmax premium steel blade has excellent utility features: long-lasting sharpness, stainless steel and reliable durability (high resistance to abrasion, high resistance to mechanical damage).
Grinds and Blade Shape for Efficient Cutting
The knife blade has been profiled in the drop point style. This design helps to make the best use of the really large blade. It should be noted that the slightly curved design of the knife (arc from the end of the handle to the tip of the blade) in combination with a properly profiled, undercut handle gives the whole a more aggressive character and, if necessary, allows you to better use the force put into a sweeping cut when chopping, for example, a larger piece of wood, etc. A curiosity in the execution of the knife is the innovative hollow grind. It is visible at first glance in the form of characteristic grooves on both the correct blade and the false blade. The concavity of the grind is very subtle and, in addition to the visual effect, is designed to support the cutting process (it reduces the effect of the material sticking to the blade and facilitates splitting of the material). In the Rambler knife, the blade is quite wide (close to 4 cm), which makes it very durable also under higher overloads.
On the back of the blade there is a jimpig, which makes it easier to press the blade of the knife to the material being cut. This element enables precise cuts, makes it easier to guide the cutting edge along the material and helps with cuts that require pressure.
Durable and Ergonomic Knife Handle – Unique Inserts
The slender, neat oval of the handle fits perfectly and lies securely in the hand, its gentle profiling helps to prevent the hand from slipping onto the cutting edge. The rounded ridge protruding on each side of the handle makes the knife comfortable and secure.
The handles with an ergonomic, oval shape are made of a very durable G10 composite with stabilized wood inserts. G10 is resistant to moisture, temperature changes, most solvents and acids, has high resistance to mechanical damage. In the presented knife, the material of the scales have a rough pattern that prevents the handle from slipping in the hand. The handle scales have been screwed with black coated steel screws. The screws complete the design of the knife, elegantly matching the black blade.
At the end of the knife handle you will find a hidden hole for attaching an additional cord, which can be used as a protection against dropping the knife during operation, or an additional gripper that facilitates removing the knife from the holster. Originally, it includes a paracord section with a shade matched to the design.
Exclusive Holstex Holster
The knife has a holster made of hand-formed holstex material, which is characterized by high impact and scratch resistance, characterized by low moisture absorption, resistant to various weather conditions and many chemicals.
The holster is attached to the belt using a black leather loop. It is equipped with pass-through holes that can be optionally used to secure the holster to a backpack or tactical gear using cordage, rope, or paracord. The holster is wrapped with paracord, matching the color of the section near the knife.
For tactical enthusiasts, the knifemaker has designed an optional Kydex buckle that enables mounting on a belt as well as MOLLE-compatible systems*. The buckle is not included as part of the original set but can be purchased separately HERE.
For additional customization options, the knifemaker has designed an angled buckle that allows the knife to be carried in the holster on the belt at a chosen angle, offering a more discreet or pronounced carry style. You can order the buckle HERE.
* The buckle designed by the knifemaker is compatible with MOLLE systems. To attach the buckle, simply remove the module with textile loop.
